The Heirloom Gardener Magazine

Welcome to our new magazine on heirloom gardening that we launched in March 2003. Over the last few years I have met many friends and garden writers, and we have had many requests for a magazine for heirloom growers. So with your support and help we have launched America's first magazine devoted to you, our fellow friends and seed savers. This magazine is about real gardening and is not filled cover to cover with offensive corporate advertising.

Enjoy full color articles by America's top writers, including William Woys Weaver, Doreen Howard, Brook Elliott, Tovah Martin, Jim Long, Debra Lee Baldwin, Rand B. Lee, Deborah Rich, Doris Bickford-Swarthout, Marie Ianotti and so many others!

This color magazine is published quarterly; Spring, Summer, Fall & Winter.

We average about 15 featured articles per issue.

Titles from our recent issues include:

  • The Magic of Seed Saving
  • Heirloom Pears
  • Old Roses
  • American Colonial Tomatoes
  • Seed Collecting in Thailand
  • Strange Bio-tech
  • Vegetables of India
  • Garlic Growing
  • Melons: The Pick Of The Crop
  • Geraniums of Yesteryear
  • A Curious Cucumber
  • Market Gardening
  • Wonderful Squash

and many more!

What people are saying...

Dear Mr. Gettle,
Your magazine gets better all the time! We love it and mention it often in our columns and on our (radio) program. It takes courage to launch a magazine these days, and we wish you the best of success with it. We'll spread the word about your jewel.

Great magazine! I love it... It was a sit-down, cover to cover; I can't wait for the next!... Thanks! We homeschool, so I'm using your magazine in one of our classes. Sincerely,
Terri Dye
